Recently, I found myself standing before the gravestone of Philip Weidemaier in Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs. The stone appeared straightforward enough

"Cliff was shaking pecans out of the trees for the pickers to sack and sell in Blackwell, Kay County, Oklahoma."
